Deteq
You might wonder how parking sensor technology can save the planet, but let us explain. Deteq has developed 'parking patches' that provide details of available spaces through a mobile phone app. This saves not only the hassle of driving around trying to find a spot, but also all the wasted emissions. A 2007 study by Donald Shoup from the University of California found that drivers looking for spaces in a 15 block district of LA wasted 178,000 litres of gasoline a year, not to mention pumped 662 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
