Apple's latest software update, iOS 6, replaced Google Maps, the default mapping service found on previous iPhones, with Apple's own map service. However Apple's mapping service contains numerous glitches, mistakes and inaccuracies, causing the software to be openly mocked on the Android-leaning social network Google+.

Under the trending topics "#IPhone5" and "iOS 6" Google+ users are sharing actual, and modified, images showcasing the failings of Apple Maps. User Robert Hill Norris shared a popular modified image of Apple's Siri opening Google Maps after being asked for "accurate directions," while others such as Mike Elgan are sharing actual images of some of the inaccuracies found on Apple Maps.

Also trending today is "#Browncoats," a reference to the nickname of the independence fighters in the cult sci-fi TV series Firefly and the moniker later adopted by fans of the series. The series first aired on September 20, 2002, and ran until December of the same year. Fans of the short-lived but much loved series are trending "#Browncoats" in reference to its tenth anniversary.
