First trailers for 'Remember Me' reveal neo-Parisian stealth and action

Four years in the making and one name change after a sweet debut showing this time last year, sci-fi adventure Adrift is back under the new name of Remember Me, coming to an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC near you in May 2013.

Female lead Nilin isn't the typical hands-on assassin. Rather, in the seven-minute snippet 'Memory Remix', her objective is to tamper with people's memories -- and therefore identities -- in order to influence their actions.

By interfering with the recent past of a high-ranking enemy, she makes him think that he's being hunted for the murder of his wife, rather than on the verge of accepting a prestigious promotion.

There are a handful of immediate touchstones: the memory reassembly of Assassin's CreedHitman's creative problem solving; a strong, nimble female main character as in Mirror's Edge or PN03; a futuristic society structured stylization as per Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Watch Dogs.

Now signed with Capcom after a stint with Sony, Remember Me won't be all sneaky-sneaky as might have been implied; developer Dontnod (holed up in present-day Paris) is ensuring Nilin is proficient in the martial arts for those inevitable scrapes with the authorities.
