In the majority of cases, players would take the hard path in order to help their allies, try to talk opponents down in conflict situations, and spare enemies when given the chance to squash them.

There was, however, a far less clear cut division when it came to shoving one particularly unsavory survivor off their mortal coil, or when deciding what to do with precious supplies found in an abandoned car, as game characters discussed the difference between looting food and liberating lost provisions.

Based on The Walking Dead graphic novel series, which is also the foundation for the TV series, Telltale's adventure game introduces new character Lee Everett as well as some old favorites.

Though it remains closest in style to Telltale's previous Jurassic Park and Back to the Future tie-ins, there are similarities with other games that trade heavily on key player decisions, such as detective thriller Heavy Rain, the Mass Effect sci-fi action games, and those in the Persona role-playing adventure series.

Episode 3 is due for release as an Xbox 360, PC, Mac and PlayStation 3 download in August, with Episode 2 also scheduled to arrive on iOS.
